... quilt card ...

Happy Earth Day & Birthday to my brother, Erik.

I made this card a while ago and just found it in a folder on my computer. I used the houndstooth embossing folder on textured cardstock and it turned out pretty cool. I *had* to have the quilt additions from PTI and this was the first and only time I've used them! I hate that!!! Sentiment is from an old hostess SU! set...

... new timeless template ...

I've been loving the templates from PTI lately - Lauren does such a cool job coming up w/ neat ones and making them so easy to follow! I think part of what I love most is that you get 5 neat ideas that you never see on anyones blog!
So - I ordered "from the desk of" the other day and couldn't wait to create with it! First, I'll show you the coordinating cards I did.
I used PTI's Green Thumb set and some patterned paper that I have no idea where it's from - just been in my stash a very long time... Spring Moss ribbon and buttons - from my "pink" drawer, so not sure where they came from either...

Two more similar cards to put in the box.
Next is my fave - I like that those little crystals fit perfectly inside (and that I remembered to use them!).

The main color I used is Berry Sorbet. Which - for the longest time I didn't buy. And then, even when I finally bought it; I didn't like it. I don't know why. I am a huge fan of pink, but this was more salmon-y, and I couldn't bring myself to use it. Well, I picked the patterned paper first and wanted to find a good match and berry sorbet was PERFECT.Here is the finished box! I should've taken another angle, too, but was in a hurry. . . I tied it w/ berry sorbet & spring moss ribbon.
Well, I'm tired, even though is barely after nine! Hope you're all enjoying warmer weather! It was 75° here today!

... the wedding card ...

Geez, I can't believe I didn't post this yet! This is the card made for the wedding I was in last month. I colored the brides hair red-ish to look like Erin, and the grooms "tux" I tried to color to look like Dress Blues since that's what he wore.

... happy april & kettos ...

Happy April 1st! Spring weather is nearly here! Today has been rainy, but this weekend looks like it will be nice....
I made these cards a few weeks ago - right after my new KETTOS arrived! My friend, Amber, and I each got 2 so we shared some.... I got Ivy Ketto and Mismatch and she got Charlotte and this gal (I'm forgetting her name at the moment).

Here's my quick & easy pink ketto card. She's soo cute. I really ought to just make stacks and stacks of cards w/ these images when I get them so I feel like I've gotten my monies worth....
Also - I ordered 2 sets from My Cute Stamps that came in the mail yesterday. I'm hoping to make some Easter cards before we leave for Maryland & Ohio this weekend....

... baby shower bella ...

Good morning! So. . . my brother-in-law's girlfriend is due to have a baby boy in May and the shower is next weekend (in Ohio). I'm not going to make it, so I sent this card and some baby goodies....

Here is a picture of one of the baby goodies.... I painted a PTI egg box and decorated it w/ the baby's name and some spring rain polkda dotted paper. Inside are a few onesies, but I am thinking the new mommy & daddy can use it to save stuff like the hospital bracelet, the hat they put on him after he's born, the card from the bassinet at the hospital.

I also sent a gift that my friend made called a fancy fanny - I didn't think to take a picture of it! She covers travel sized baby wipe containers w/ cloth and puts a trim around the edge. It's really cute - I asked her to make a John Deere one for them.

Well, I think that's enough rambling for today. It rained all night here, so let's hope for a warm dry day! =)

... stamping up a storm ...

Hey friends. I really have been stamping A LOT lately. I just didn't put the pictures on my computer until today. Here are a few of the cards I created...

This one is super simple, wanted a quick card using the new polka dotted paper from PTI.
Yeah - more of that paper. I love the raspberry fizz color!

Okay, yep, more dotted paper. I made this for my friend who is expecting twin girls this summer

... valentine goodluckabella ...

Gosh -what's up w/ me posting THREE days in a row? Craziness... Anyhoo - I've been browsing my pics and noticed that there are cards I've never posted - yikes! I made this one for Valentines Day using the goodluckabella - I joked to my hubby that they were flowers, not shamrocks!
So, my new PTI order will be here any day. I can't wait to see that pink in PERSON!

Oooh - and this Saturday I am heading to a "Scrap N Chat" from 9am till 5pm. Eight hours of stamping and chatting w/ NO KIDS! A day of bliss! I can't wait.

One more thing - I was browsing WalMart and saw they had some beading stuff on clearance for 50¢! Nichole Heady inspired me w/ her Mothers Day bracelet & tin to make something neat, so if I accomplish something good, I'll post it! =)

... nephews birthday ...

My nephew, Alex, turned 11 last month and this is the card I sent him. He likes orange, and I couldn't reallly bring myself to use ONLY ORANGE, so I opted for Pumpkin Pie! I love how it turned out. I used a quickie glue pen on the eyes and sprinkled some Martha Stewart glitter over them so they'd match the card. This was one of those sets that I HAD TO HAVE when it first came out, but I hardly use it. I gotta fix that!
Have a great day! Happy St. Patty's day....

... flower pots...

I made this card a while ago and thought I'd posted it... Imagine that - I didn't! Anyhoo - I like the soft colors, and the smaller sized card. Hope you do, too!

non-stamping chat....

So, the other day I went to buy a new flat iron for my hair and was browsing the skin care aisle. I was looking for a peel-y mask to try and found one. I did it tonight and LOVE how my skin looks and feels, so I wanted to share. It's called Vita-C and you can find it here.

Tomorrow night I have a little girls night at a spa/salon nearby; they're having wine and we're doing make up. FUN! I can't wait.

A few pictures from Erin's wedding. . .

Hey blogger friends! Here are a few pics from the wedding I was in last weekend! This first one is us all lined up about to go in for the start of the wedding. At the rehearsal, I asked my hubby what he thought of the guy I was paired up with (he's jealous and I like to tease). Anyhoo - his response was.... "you're old enough to be his mom!" Oh golly...thanks A LOT!
Next, we have the bride and groom w/ their wedding party and the Marines from the sword detail. NICE - I love a man in uniform!
Whew - we're married! Look how happy they are!!! Erin sent me this picture, too - it's of me and one of the groomsmen - not the one I walked down the aisle with, but the one I was introduced w/ at the reception, so that's why I'm dancing w/ him instead of the "boy" from the photo above. ;-)
No cards in this post - I have made a few, so if you're lucky, I'll get them blogged in the near future!

... eloise greengrass ...

Isn't she CUTE? I made her a couple weeks ago - remember when I was in my paper piecing mood? Anyhoo... I sent her off to my sis in Maryland.
Not much to chat about today. I've got a cold and feel BLAH. Me and the hubs went to a friends wedding in New Jersey this past weekend. Had a blast. Will upload a few pictures soon.

pink daisy bella

It's no secret I love bellas. . . I made this cute little card a few weeks ago. I used basic grey paper, dark choc & sweet blush cardstock. And - more of the dew drops me & Amber made.

Enjoy.

... grumpabella ...

I made this card for my mom last night while I was waiting up for the PTI release.... I hadn't paper pieced in a very long time and was "in the mood" last night. This is basic grey paper - I forget which pack... This bella reminds me of my mom b/c she HAS to have coffee first thing and probably drinks 3 pots in a day. Anyhoo - lately, I've noticed that I'm becoming like my mom when I get up in the middle of the night for something.... I go stumbling down the hall and if I forget to put on my glasses, I'll be squinting and walking funny and I get this mental image of watching my mom walk down the hall first thing in the morning to make her coffee!
So, back to the card.... I added some homemade "dew drops" to the bottom. My friend, Amber, picked up some lustre gems at a home store that were on clearance and the bag had about a thousand little clear gems in there. So she came over and we dyed them w/ some Ranger Alcohol inks and have quite a little stash now! I've decided that I have to use at LEAST 3 on a card whenever I use them....
Oh - and I had to make my envelope match w/ a strip of the basic grey paper.

Well, there's an "emergency" in the living room, so I've gotta run.

... note card set ...

I made this set of note cards for my M-I-L for Christmas (she got it last month!!). Anyhoo - I printed off the sentiment and dotted line underneat and added a strip of basic grey paper to give it a little pizzazz - which also matches the little box. I used Lauren's template - Desktop Organizer. It was super easy and turned out really cute. I ended up putting the notes in "upside down" so you could read the top....
